No. Building strength is part of the journey. Pole dancing helps improve strength, flexibility, coordination, and fitness over time, regardless of your starting point.
For beginner classes, shorts and a comfortable sports bra / vest top are recommended. As you progress, skin contact helps with grip on the pole. Please avoid applying body lotion on the day of your class as it can make the poles slippery.
